Jamie Luner, of TV's Melrose Place fame, will be joining NBC's Profiler in its fourth season. Her character will be Rachel Burke, who initially joins the VCTF after Doctor Samantha Waters vanishes. Ms. Luner will remain on cast after Ms. Walker's character is written out in the beginning two episodes. Who knows? Rachel Burke will probably be a profiler, which the VCTF will need after Sam takes off. Before anyone emails me, I have no idea how Sam will be leaving. No matter how much I wish, she probably won't go over to the Dark Side a la Hannibal. Oh well. I think it would make great tv. June 20th, 1999 Ally Walker, who plays Dr. Samantha Waters on NBC's Profiler, has been let out of her contract with the show at her request. She plans on pursuing her film career. NBC has confirmed Ms. Walker's leaving, but has not yet reported what will happen next season of Profiler. Options are having the role of Dr. Waters re-cast, or to bring on a new character. Profiler will be returning for its fourth season in the fall of 1999. My two cents: The above is the cut and dried version of the facts as I have seen them. I'm not going to repeat, post, or drag out rumors that have been floating around. Why not? I'm not interested in them, and frankly they don't affect the show in anyway. Unless I see a press release, I remain skeptical. Ally Walker leaving the show is not the end of the world. Profiler has a wonderful cast, who are remaining (so I hear). Next season, we will see more of Robert Davi (Bailey Malone), Roma Mafia (Grace Alverez), Peter Frechette (George Fraley), and Julian McMahon (John Grant). Dennis Christopher (Jack of All Trades / Sherrif Edwin Post) simply must be in at least the first episode, judging from season three's cliffhanger episode, Las Brisas. Season three saw a few characters recurring, and I suspect that trend will continue. The wonderful world of guest stars were also brought to the fore in the season three trend of "Let's watch the episode from the criminal's perspective". We will have to wait for the start of season four (with our luck in late November) so see what develops with the show. I will post more related details as I find them. |
